Behind the Scenes with our Nashville-based Brands
From new hires to the rebranding and relaunch of our beloved Union Teller from years ago, our three Nashville-based brands have been up to quite a bit since the end of 2023. Keep reading to see what we’ve been up to behind the scenes.
From Molecular Biologist to Executive Chef: Meet the all-female leadership crew at Ellington’s and Union Teller
In September 2023, Ellington’s welcomed Executive Chef Angeline Chiang to lead a new era at Ellington’s. Accompanied by an all-female support team, Food & Beverage Director, Suzan Yasin, and Food & Beverage Manager, Alison Rincon - no stone has been left unturned in the process of revamping the vision behind Ellington’s.
Chef Angeline, a Connecticut transplant to the Nashville area, brings over a decade of experience and a degree in molecular biology. An unlikely origin story, Chef Angeline's year of work in the molecular biology field was enough to convince her to move to New York City in pursuit of what she was passionate about: cooking and meeting great people.
With her optimistic outlook and persistent spirit, Chef Angeline made a name for herself in the diverse restaurant scene she was a part of. Her emphasis on collaboration stems from her direct experience in the industry and is something she is quick to share - “Everyone I met was eager to share what they knew, with a focus of creating something bigger.”
In her brief time with Oliver Hospitality, Chef Angeline has overseen a rebrand and complete menu redesign for Ellington’s, in addition to supporting the re-launch and back-of-the-house team for what’s now known as Union Teller.
Former “The Bagelshop” is now Union Teller
Paying homage to the financiers that once roamed the area, this new dining experience serves elevated comfort cuisine day and night. Whether you’re coming in for a power breakfast, midday work break, or a casually refined evening with friends - Union Teller is conveniently located on the first floor of the Fairlane Hotel in the heart of downtown Nashville, making it a perfect stop when you're in town for a TPAC show or a night in Printer's Alley.
What was once known as The Bagelshop is now a fully reimagined space best described as a laid-back and casual diner meets bar vibe. The best part of all? It continues to be one of the only places in Nashville offering homemade bagels daily. Following in the footsteps of Fairlane Hotel, Union Teller will also be hosting themed pop-ups throughout the year. Just this May, the one-of-a-kind Seinfeld experience inspired everything from the food to the drink menu.
On the heels of legendary Jerry Seinfeld’s performance at TPAC in Nashville, this free experience was open to everyone and dove into the world of Jerry, Elaine, George, and Kramer as we paid homage to the iconic show.
Whether you’re staying at the Fairlane Hotel, are a Nash-native, or are passing through - make sure to pop in and grab a seat!
