Revitalization of a Rich History
The Marconi Center features an assortment of event venue possibilities and updated lodging surrounded by the adventurous hiking paths with spectacular views. The location originally lent itself as a hub to receive wireless telegraph signals from across the Atlantic Ocean; today, Marconi Conference Center continues in the tradition of communication by providing meeting and retreat services for the Bay Area.
Named after the original owner, the Marconi Center has seen many transformations. During World War I the Marconi Wireless Telegraph Co. of America was the dominant radio communications company in the U.S. Before eventually being gifted to the state of California in the late 80’s, the property had a dramatic stint as an infamous drug and alcohol rehabilitation center that even graced headlines for scandalous behavior during those years! In 2022, Oliver Hospitality worked with the state of California and set out to faithfully restore the lodge with an emphasis on celebrating its history while curating the amenities of a modern resort hotel. Making all of the magic come to life is our General Manager, Bryon Parsons. Hailing from Denver, he has a passion to provide an inspiring setting for travelers and event guests so that they can enjoy the amenities of a modern resort destination while being grounded in nature. Parsons’ background with photography, graphic design, and hotel management made him the perfect fit to revitalize this property for the community to gather and enjoy while maintaining the integrity of its essence. Now his focus is on the continued reinvention of the Marconi Conference Center into a renowned first-class lodge and luxury destination.
