Riverview Square: Newest Hospitality and Entertainment Center
Oliver Hospitality is happy to announce the Summer 2024 arrival of the much-awaited DoubleTree by Hilton Clarksville Riverview and Riverview Square. Only minutes away from Austin Peay State University and directly across the street from the city's newest 6,000-seat F&M Bank Arena, this 4-acre mixed-use retail center includes this entirely renovated full-service hotel, a new downtown parking garage, and is set to become a hotspot for high-end cuisine and shopping quickly. This lodging and entertainment project will be the perfect weekend getaway, conveniently located under an hour's drive from the Nashville metropolitan area and Nashville International Airport.
Through the Years
Clarksville is the epitome of Southern charm. Just walk along Franklin Street and you'll get enamored by the vast collection of 19th-century buildings, coffee shops, and the vintage Roxy Regional Theater that’s still standing. It is a unique, historic town with special ties to Oliver Hospitality's CFO and co-founder, Philip Welker, who was born and raised in Clarksville. After graduating from Clarksville High School, Philip went off to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Philip later returned and bought his old high school after it was sold to the city and converted it into the Penn Warren Apartments. A few blocks down and overlooking the Cumberland River is the town's landmark hotel, the DoubleTree by Hilton Clarksville Riverview. Built in 1981, what was initially known as the Riverview Hotel was one of only two downtown hotels for decades.
This historic property has been the perfect destination for Sunday brunch, weekend getaways, and college nightlife for the last few years. Due to the booming tobacco industry, this East bank location was once a Tobacco warehouse. The historical one-story brick hotel was later knocked down and rebuilt to what it is today. It operated under the Ramada flag for some time and then independently as the Riverview Inn. When it was time for a complete renovation, it became what we know today as the Doubletree by Hilton Clarksville Riverview.
